From the first time I dipped my toes into the pool of film and production, I knew I’d found my calling. School subjects led to work experience, my degree in film production, and to freelancing with small businesses across South East Queensland. But what I knew from the outset was that despite my other skills, and areas in which I was competent or even excelled, I had a passion for film.

 

This passion has seen me take on all aspects of the process, initially out of necessity, but now due to a genuine love for the medium. Whether it’s the set up of a shoot, its filming, post-production or managing the behind-the-scenes action to ensure projects run as smoothly as possible, I bring many years’ worth of knowledge, experience, skills and passion to any role I throw myself into.

As a freelance videographer, I’ve been able to hone my skills even more. Working with clients such as Clouds of Montville, International Hair and Cosmetics Group and Healthy Fox, I’ve ensured that their briefs and needs are met, that expectations are aligning with offerings, that communication remains positive and productive, as well as producing quality work that aligns with their business and their brand.

A highlight thus far has been working on the set-up and filming of the 3-day music festival, Jungle Love. This experience taught me so much about the importance of strong communication in getting such an immense project completed successfully. Ensuring that each player in the team is taking care of their role for the greater whole, while using initiative and problem solving to combat any unexpected surprises along the way. From set-up to pack-up, it confirmed that this is the field in which I want to work.

 

While I am enjoying my work as a freelancer, I love working as part of a team, and look forward to making connections with others in the industry so that we can create even more amazing work together
